Scriptural Prayer

Why should we pray scriptural prayer?

Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (NKJ) When we pray scriptural prayers we hear from God Himself what He says about certain situations and faith is released when we realise that God cannot lie...

Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (NKJ)

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. (NKJ)

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (NKJ)

Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing will be impossible." (NKJ)

Genesis 18:14........."Is anything too hard for the Lord?" (NKJ)

"The greatest tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, buy unoffered prayer"

Fasting

Reasons for fasting

If I’m going to do anything that’s difficult, and anything that may mess my world up, then I’m going to need some reasons why must I do it. Fasting is that discipline that everyone dreads. I’m not sure I've ever met someone who enjoys fasting. Fasting is hard. And if we are to partake of this spiritual discipline then we must have some reasons, and some results that we are looking for.

The type of fast I’m speaking of here is a fasting or abstaining from food. There are all sorts of fasts that we can do, however I’m writing particularly about fasting from food.

Answered Prayer

Guidelines to answered Prayer

1. The barriers that hinder our prayers to God.

  • Sin and unrighteousness
Isaiah 59:2-3; “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has muttered perversity.” (NKJV)
  • Unbelief
Matthew 13:58; “Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” (NKJV)
  • Lack of knowledge
Hosea 4:6; “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” (NKJV)
  • Slothfulness
Romans 12:11; “not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord” (NKJV)

The Word

What is the Word?

The Bible is the word

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God (John 1:1).

Word is like hummer that breaketh the rock in pieces (Jeremiah 23:29)

Word sanctify and cleanse (Ephesians 5:26)

Spiritual Growth

Key to growing spiritually

Spiritual growth in the life of a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ is as important as breathing air every moment of life.
One cannot neglect this aspect of being a Christian. These few guidelines should help you grow in Christ and become stronger in Him.

Salvation

What is Salvation

The Bible is very clear on how one can be saved. Please read the following and pray the prayer at the end.
We all need to make a conscious decision to receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and in John 1:12 the Bible says: "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name" (NKJ)
